Canada Research Chair in Computer-aided High-frequency Modelling and Design
The Canada Research Chair Program has awarded Dr. Devabhaktuni a Tier II Chair - a position awarded to emerging and exceptional young researchers who are on the way to becoming future leaders in their respective fields. The Tier II Chair position is held for five years, is renewable once for five more years, and entitles researchers to a $100,000 grant per year. In addition, the Canada Foundation for Innovation has granted Dr. Devabhaktuni a $200,000 infrastructure fund to help acquire simulation and measurement equipment essential to his work. Dr. Devabhaktuni is an expert in Computer Aided Design (CAD), an area often referred to by electrical and electronics engineers as Electronic Design Automation (EDA). During 1998-2004, Dr. Vijay Devabhaktuni earned international recognition for his doctoral and postdoctoral work on artificial neural networks (ANN) based high-frequency modeling. He specializes in EM-ANN mo dels and in their smart integration with standard EDA-tool libraries. Enriched by his models that combine elusive EM accuracies with high ANN speeds, EDA tools now feature faster yet reliable RF/microwave.

3) Dr.K.H. Rayudu (Receipt ant, Queen of Canada Golden Jubille Medal) :
Dr. Rayudu Koka is a consultant psychiatrist for the Northeast Mental Health Centre. He moved to Sudbury in 1986 after having received his training in Britain. Dr. Rayudu has been actively participating in medical politics at both the local and provincial levels. He was a strong advocate for the establishment of a northern medical school during his office as President of the Sudbury and District Medical Society. The Northern Ontario Medical School is the first to be approved by the governments of Ontario and Canada in the last 30 years.
Dr. Rayudu serves on different committees, promoting mental health issues and advocating for the mentally ill population in the community and across Northeastern Ontario. He is actively involved in various community organizations, including the Hôpital régional de Sudbury Regional Hospital board and the Northeast Mental Health Centre board. He has received several distinguished awards in recognition of his contributions.
50th Anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second's assension to the Throne, Canadians from coast-to-coast-to-coast are engaged in celebrations of her reign as Queen of Canada. One of the most significant activities of the Golden Jubilee celebrations is the awarding of the Golden Jubilee Medal. This commemorative medal will be awarded to Canadians who, over the past 50 years, have helped create the Canada of today, including young Canadians who are actively contributing to our future. Dr.Rayudu included in the 20 extremely deserving individuals awarded their medals on November 15, 2002.
He is the former Chief of Staff of the Northeast Mental Health Centre. He is Chief of Service for Developmental Clinical Services, Chief of Service for Community Clinics and a consultant psychiatrist for the Assertive Community Treatment Team. He is also Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Northern Ontario Medical School and has been appointed as the Section Leader of Psychiatry for its Northeast Campus.
