Rating 4.5/5 If Ra One was disappointing, Shahrukh Khan compensates with  Don 2 . Though the movie has dull and a weak script, yet the enigmatic presence of SRK fills the void. WIth Priyanka Chopra around, Don 2 promises aplenty.  It is slick and racy. Farhan Akhtar may have disappointed you as a director, but SRK steps in to make it an engrossing affair. The film doesn't have any surprises, twists or turns. It is ends up as a predictable one. But the richness and glossy feel makes it count.  Story Since it is a sequel, the movie begins from the climax of the first set. Don (SRK) is spotted in Thailand. He surrenders to cop Roma (Priyanka Chopra) and is sent to a Malaysian prison. He breaks the jail and manages to escape in a daredevil way with Vardhan ( Boman Irani).  They now hatch a plan to rob the Germans of their currency plates. There the Don makes smart moves. His mission begins and amidst all odds, does he succeed or not is the climax. ...

The much hyped and most aggressively promoted film ‘Ra.One’ came as a Diwali treat but then it lacked the fizz to explode at the box office. Instead, it became a topic of divided talk. One group revealed that it has got Rs 86 crores in 5 days which is matching ‘Bodyguard’s collections. Another trade analyst mentioned that sub-distributors will suffer across India and only Eros International will break even. The 3D format is given thumbs down. Comparison with ‘Bodyguard’ is pinned down since ‘Ra.One’ released in 1000 screens more, budget was thrice and has the 3D advantage. Reports say that Nizam territory was sold for Rs 7.5 crores but distributor’s loss is Rs 2 crores. CI territory was sold for Rs 3.15 crores but collections will not exceed more than Rs 2.5 crores. G1, the telugu version of Ra One is disappointing in the state. The film which had a delayed release in most parts of the state on diwali day due to Print issues, collected only 21 Lakhs on Day 1. Although collections improved phenomenally on day2, it was back to normal from the 3rd day.   The mixed initial responses to 'RA.One' seem to have no effect on the business of the film, which soared on October 27, a day after the grand release of the film in more than 3500 screens. Renowned trade analyst Taran Adarsh has tweeted that the film has grossed around Rs 18.5 crore in India on the second day after its release. The film has garnered around Rs 6.5 crore from the overseas market also which makes the total earning Rs 25 crore. The overseas markets have emerged as good business options since some years. Some recent films actually recovered a major part of their cost from these markets only. 'My Name Is Khan' was one such film which was just a moderate success in India but a big hit overseas.
