BusinessMan has got everything on the plate, it is like a buffet but none of the item scores big music. Music good, photography and editing is slick but the problem lies with the story, though set in the underworld category it is a movie without logic, full of cinematic liberty. The love track is sidelined and even though the lines are terrific, since the setup for the love story is too trivial, the romantic track does not make a mark.
The biggest strength of Business Man is Mahesh. It is his show all the way. The introduction scene of Mahesh acting as ACP shows his angry young man image. His base, his body, his timing are perfect. But the audience get a over dose of Mahesh by the end of movie. It is very hard to find a frame without Mahesh. Kajal is cute as Chitra. Nazer comes up with power-packed performance as a righteous Commissioner. Brahmaji, Dharmavarapu and Shayaji are good. Swetha Bharadwaj is perfect in the item number. Rest of the cast is supportive.
Censor has done a lot of damage for the film by blurring cleavages and beeping “Ucha”. It is not understood why censor did that considering the fact they gave “A” certificate. Censor people should be once verified before they actually censor a movie. Thrills which have actually helped Pokiri like the Climax twist is missing in this movie. Even interval bang is mediocre. Love track is good in parts but does not make an impact when we leave the hall.
Puri writes a story which has a large scale but executed it in a commercial and safe manner instead of doing it a realistic way. The part which he should have taken care is sometimes hero character goes into a Negative shade and a section of audience might not connect with the theme.
It is a feast for Mahesh fans and a racy action film for others. Being such a quickie and with the buzz around Business Man is the word for the season.
